I had the pleasure of meeting Gracie Kay and her mom in April. Gracie had just been diagnosed with Rett syndrome which my little Gracie May also has. So I got to have a great talk with her mom who naturally had loads of questions. It was pretty surreal sitting in a coffee shop in the hometown where I lived my entire life with a little girl who had the same condition (and the same name) as my little girl who was, at that moment, three thousand miles away.
I had my camera with me and got to photograph Gracie for the Cure Rett awareness campaign which I’ve been working on since October.
I got these shots in about three minutes which is all Gracie would give me. She’s pretty fast on her feet.
