Orlando Courthouse Wedding on Digital and Film

This session was shot by GMP founder and Principal Photographer Elizabeth Millar

As a Central Florida photographer who loves shooting on film, I’m so excited when a couple requests this medium for their wedding photography!

Lauren and Jamie are a couple from the UK who eloped at the Orange County Courthouse during their Disney holiday. They invited me to join them as their photographer to shoot on digital and film. When I do this, the majority of the shoot takes place with my mirrorless digital cameras and I use film cameras (35mm and medium format) to get certain shots when the scenario and lighting is best for it.

After their wedding ceremony, we did some photos inside the courthouse, outside the courthouse and did a small adventure around the local city area to capture the vibes of The City Beautiful. I love showing tourists downtown Orlando because they often never get to see the areas outside the tourist spots and it’s a truly beautiful city.

For the photography nerds out there, I did the film shots with 3 different cameras: a Canon 1V, a Rolleiflex, and a Pentax 645. I shot on Portra, 800t and Vision3 500t (movie film) cut from IMAX size film (65mm) and respooled for use in a medium format stills camera—so cool! This film maintains the sprocket holes which is a look that I love.

Thank you so much for having me, Lauren and Jamie. It was such a pleasure.
