Adham and Briana were married in December at the Hillsborough County Courthouse in downtown Tampa

There is a distinct pulse to Downtown Tampa that feels both historic and vibrantly modern, making it a premier landscape for an intentional elopement. For Adham and Briana’s courthouse micro wedding, my associate photographer, Gabriela, took the lead in capturing a day with the same sophistication and class she would bring to a six-figure wedding.

Gabriela excels at effortlessly directing her couples to get the best out of them, and this session was a perfect example of finding editorial beauty in the elegant moments of a city wedding.

The day began at The Edition Hotel, where the couple shared their first look amidst the sleek, minimalist exterior. While many high-end hotels in Tampa have strict policies regarding interior photography—often requiring separate permits or fees even for guests—the surrounding urban architecture provided a stunningly modern backdrop. It’s a great reminder for couples that sometimes the most “Tampa” feel comes from the streets themselves, using the city’s clean lines and upscale textures to set the tone for the day.

From the hotel, they met their the group outside of the Hillsborough County Courthouse. If you’ve spent any time in Florida’s courthouse marriage rooms, you know they can often feel a bit “official” and cramped. However, there is something incredibly sweet about seeing tradition thrive in these small spaces. Despite the tight quarters, Briana’s father still walked her down the “aisle,” a gesture that felt even more intimate and poignant given the proximity of their closest loved ones.

One of my favorite details from this day was the way the group gathered when they first met at the courthouse. Meeting across the street and then heading over to the courthouse together as one unit felt like such a thoughtful, fun touch that set the tone.

Adham and Briana wanted to prioritize using the rest of their time with Gabriela on shots with the family and lucky for them, she really excels at directing this portion of a wedding day. She found the best light there outside the courthouse to get uber classy family formals.
