A New Gracie May Photographer: Meet Jennifer!

I’m so fortunate that my business is growing to the point that I can’t take on every request because I can’t be two places at one time (yet). So until then, Jennifer is as good as a second me!

It’s important in the photography world to have colleagues we can lean on for friendship, support, and an extra pair of talented eyes when we need them.

While it’s easy to make friends with other photographers, it’s not easy to trust them all with my clients. I understand that you come to me trusting that you will get the same level of work that you’ve seen on this website and on my Instagram. I take this so seriously and bring the same level of dedication and enthusiasm to every session. So trusting another photographer to show up fully the way I would isn’t easy.

When Jennifer jumped into gear the first time I needed her in an emergency, I felt I’d found someone I could trust with my vision, my brand, and your wedding.

When would Jennifer be needed as your photographer?

As an “associate photographer”, Jennifer acts as the primary photographer for a shoot when I am unavailable, taking on the lead role under my company’s umbrella in the style that Gracie May Photography is known for.

There are two situations where you might be working with Jennifer.

  1. When you inquire about my services, and I am already booked, I give the option of tweaking your date/time or I present Jennifer as an option (if she’s available). You make the choice!
  2. In the case of an emergency, Jennifer might jump in to save the day. After 16 years in business, this has happened to me only twice. On one occasion, I called Jennifer at 5am and she met my couple at the courthouse at 8. She was a HERO and I am so grateful.

Jennifer is very talented and my clients love working with her. This is what Janice and Shane had to say about working with her for their micro wedding at Honey Acres Ranch:

How does it work?

How this works is I onboard you as a client of mine, I collect all the info, answer all of your questions, manage your booking, and communicate with you. I brief Jennifer on everything she needs to know about all of the conversations we’ve had, the info from your questionnaire, and any inspiration pictures you’ve shared. Jennifer shows up to shoot your wedding and then transfers the files to me. I edit in your selected editing style and deliver them to you myself!

Some things you should know

The most important thing to know about working with me in this way is that Jennifer doesn’t do any of the admin or client interactions until it’s time for the photo shoot. Client comms are a form of labor and I am only paying for her time to shoot a couple’s wedding. So until it’s time for your session, you’ll be connecting with me just as if it were me shooting for you.
