Incredible Clearwater Sand Key Beach Summer Elopement

This session was shot by GMP founder and Principal Photographer Elizabeth Millar who also officiated their marriage ceremony

Toni and Casey married each other during golden hour at Sand Key Beach in Clearwater

As I sit down to write this post, it’s been 3 months since Toni and Casey’s elopement at Sand Key Beach and I’m just so excited to share it with you because…duh. Look at it!

They asked me to marry and photograph them in a most simple and touching way and moments like these are exactly why I do what I do.

I walked them through their vows and ring exchange before declaring them married and shooting until we had no more light.

I asked where they were headed next. They said grocery shopping at Whole Foods and I wasn’t even joking one little big when I asked if I could come too but they just giggled and said goodbye. Can you picture it, though? A bit of post-elopement chores still dressed in your tux and gown? I’m totally up for anyone who wants to do this in the future! No lie.

Quite often during my photo sessions, I recognize that my subjects wonder “is this going ok? Is she getting anything good?” Once in a while I say, “I know it doesn’t feel like much is happening, but trust me this is incredible…these shots are incredible…and this is how easy it always feels!”

When I say that my own work is incredible, I don’t mean to say that I think I’m an incredible photographer (there are many photographers better than I) but when the people, place, and atmosphere are incredible, I feel so honored to get to use my tools to capture it just as it really was. Not to make it incredible. But to catch it already happening right there in front of us. And the beach always delivers.

Thank you so much for having me, Toni and Casey. It was truly so so…well…incredible!
