The Melby Hotel Melbourne Micro Wedding in the New Horizons Ballroom

This session was shot by GMP founder and Principal Photographer Elizabeth Millar

Micro weddings can take many different shapes and styles. This one took place at a hotel event space at the Melby Hotel in Melbourne Florida

Caitlin & Colton got married in a micro wedding at Melby Hotel in Melbourne with around 50 guests. This space is called the New Horizons ballroom and it’s on the 11th floor, soaring above the sweeping views of the Intracoastal.

The room has beautiful light with floor-to-ceiling windows and the connecting open air terrace where Caitlin and Colton got married.

I spent just 3 hours capturing their micro wedding and they got all of the phases of a wedding into those 3 hours for a perfectly condensed event without any energy dipping or downtime. This is something I love about micro weddings—no one gets fatigued or bored because everything happens in half the time of traditional wedding days.

During our time together, we got away outside for some private photos which was the only point during the event that Caitlin and Colton got to be alone and the fact that I can give couples this on their wedding day is one of my favorite parts of my job.

Thank you for having me, Caitlin and Colton! It was so much fun.
