“The day went by so quickly. Looking at these photos has helped us re-live every moment. I am in tears looking through them all. You and your team made us feel so at ease and we had such fun with you all – we cannot thank you enough!” -Lisa
I ain’t jokin’ when I claim that Lisa & Andy’s wedding was TV worthy because, in fact, it was on the tee-vee! More on that later.
These two. *sigh* they’re so adorable. Hashtag lovethem. You might recognize them from their engagement session in the bluebells which was a super fitting start to our photographic relationship because every nook and cranny of their wedding was jam-packed with not only flowers, but class. So. Much. Class.
They’re one of many couples who lost time and money (not to mention hopes and dreams) when their barn venue filed for bankruptcy and so they had to abruptly change their plans from a barn shindig to a marquee reception at home and boy-oh-boy did they pull it off.
Not only was this a TV worthy wedding but one of the most Pinterest worthy weddings I’ve ever been involved in. At every turn, there were delicious surprises. Everything (and I do mean everything right down to the clothes hangers) were customised for the day.
The classic cars were the best I’ve ever seen and jam packed with props to make this day uber photogenic (like the cameras Lisa & Andy played with during their Mr + Mrs session…I just found those on the back dash of their Beetle!)
So for the most beautiful part of the whole thing (apart from love, naturally!) were the florals. And very special florals indeed. The flowers were done by famous (now retired) florist Jay Archer and her team. She is truly an artist and I was excited to get to shoot one of her weddings.
Jay’s floral artistry was being covered as a part of a documentary for Channel 4 (working title “Flower Power”) where they covered their flowers’ journey from fields in Holland to markets in Covent Garden to Jay’s 4am start and, finally, to the gasps of the couple and their guests.
So to make a long story short, Andy & Lisa’s INCREDIBLE summer wedding will long remain the top wedding of 2016 and a highlight of my summer.
