This session was shot by GMP founder and Principal Photographer Elizabeth Millar who also officiated their marriage ceremony
As a photographer who can also legalize marriages, I often marry my couples during their photo sessions. That’s exactly what I did during this elopement at Kelly Park at Rock Springs.

Teresa and Jonathan are the cutest couple who wanted to elope at Kelly Park at Rock Springs and they staged the cutest details to make it feel like a wedding in the pavilion they rented.
Rock Springs is a stunning, fresh, natural spring in Apopka Florida that has always been busy in peak season, but after going viral many many times thanks to travel influencers, it’s virtually impossible to get in without lining up starting as early as 4am.

So when a couple asks me about getting married there, I always recommend that they only attempt this in the off-season which would be autumn and winter. Teresa and Jonathan did their elopement on 5/1 as it was just starting to get busy but it was a Thursday and they reserved a pavilion so that helped us get in easily.

We started with shots of their adorable details before bugs, squirrels, and raccoons got to them which was a good call because when we got back after their ceremony and photo session, the critters had gotten to it all.

After that, we headed to the top of the natural spring where I married them on the big rock. This is the area most often seen in photo sessions at Kelly Park and it’s located at the spring head where people launch for their journeys down the lazy river.

While it looks like they got married in a secluded area, I removed many people from the background of their photos and this is another reason I recommend doing this in winter. Removing folks isn’t difficult but having a private moment around everyone hootin’ and hollerin’ in their swimsuits might be!

Jonathan didn’t want to get wet but Teresa was excited about getting in the water in her dress so we played mermaids in the river and funny enough, someone who saw me said she liked my vision, asked for my business card, and booked me for her own micro wedding! So much fun.
Thank you for having me, Teresa and Jonathan!
