Faith & Nicholas Had a Vintage-Style Spring Wedding at The Venue at Gentry Pines

The Venue at Gentry Pines had been on my radar for a while, and Faith and Nicholas’s spring wedding was my first time shooting there. As a Central Florida elopement and micro wedding photographer, I only take on full-day weddings when the couple and the setting feel right (see more examples of my full-day wedding work). This one felt very right. A couple with a clear vision, and a venue that matched their energy completely. By the end of the day, I was already hoping someone would book me there again.

About The Venue at Gentry Pines: A St. Cloud Wedding Venue with Vintage Charm

The Venue at Gentry Pines sits on 12 private acres in St. Cloud, Florida—just south of Orlando near Kissimmee—and it has such a unique vibe and quality about it. Moss-covered oak trees, cypress along the waterfront, Spanish moss draping everything in that soft, hazy Old Florida way. The property has a lakeside ceremony area, a covered patio, and a modern barn-style reception hall that feels rustic and polished at the same time.

This is the kind of St. Cloud wedding venue where the setting does a lot of the work for you. Faith and Nicholas’s earthy sage green, cream, and soft brown palette didn’t need to fight for attention—it just clicked into place the moment we walked outside.

Getting Ready at The Venue at Gentry Pines

The bridal suite at Gentry Pines is well-designed with a full bathroom, natural light, and enough space for a makeup team to work without everyone crowding each other. Faith had a joy-filled morning in her lacy white robe with her bridesmaids in sage green robes around her—it was calm and real rather than staged.

Guys aren’t forgotten either. The groomsmen quarters have their own full bath and a kitchenette, which matters a lot when you’re talking about a 12-hour wedding day. Having two separate, functional spaces for the wedding party to get ready makes the whole morning run smoother—and smoother mornings make for better photos.

Vintage Style Wedding Outfits: Brown Suits, Sage Green, and Lace

Faith and Nicholas came in with a fully formed aesthetic, and it showed in every outfit choice. Faith’s gown was an off-the-shoulder dress with delicate lace sleeves—a beautiful vintage inspired wedding gown that also happened to show off her tattoos in the best way. Her bridesmaids wore sage green, which sat perfectly against the venue’s natural greenery and warm wood tones.

Nicholas wore a brown suit which is exactly what a vintage wedding theme calls for. His groomsmen were in lighter brown suits, and the layering of the brown wedding attire across the wedding party gave the group shots a cohesive look. The whole color palette—sage green, cream, and warm browns—came together flawlessly.

The Outdoor Ceremony, Covered for a Rainy Day

It rained on their wedding day. And honestly, it didn’t matter. The covered patio ceremony space at Gentry Pines is one of those features you don’t fully appreciate until you need it. Faith and Nicholas stood under a wooden arch with their full wedding party, guests seated on wooden chairs, the lush greenery of the property all around—and not a single person got wet. The overcast sky softened the light in a way that only clouds can, and the whole ceremony felt intimate and a little moody in the best sense.

For any couple worried about Florida weather—and you should have a rain plan, because Florida is Florida—a venue with a covered outdoor ceremony space is one of the smartest things you can look for. You stay outside. You keep the view. You just don’t get rained on.

The Reception: Earthy Textures and Warm Light Inside the Gentry Pines Barn

The barn at Gentry Pines is where the vintage wedding theme really got to show off. Exposed brick walls, warm wood cross-back chairs, and a greenery wall as the backdrop behind the sweetheart table. There were candles everywhere, market lights strung overhead, and simple cream rose and eucalyptus centerpieces that echoed Faith’s bouquet. The whiskey barrel cocktail tables that come with the venue felt completely at home with everything else.

The reception had a layered, warm quality that came from the combination of the venue’s brick, wood, greenery elements and the choices Faith and Nicholas made on top of them. When those two things align, the photos almost take themselves.

The Details That Made This Vintage Wedding Theme Come Together

Faith and Nicholas understood that cohesion isn’t about matching everything—it’s about staying in the same world. The cookie wedding favors and chalkboard seating chart signage both felt handmade and personal. The sage green showed up in the bridesmaids’ dresses and in the venue’s own landscaping. The warm brown tones ran from the groom’s suit to the wood chairs to the whiskey barrels.

One of my favorite detail shots of the whole day was the wedding cake—a white tiered cake with blush roses and some polaroid photos of Faith and Nicholas that I had taken propped on top. Personal, a little unexpected, and completely them. The pointy-toed lace bridal shoes were another one. Sitting perfectly against the soft textures of the suite, they felt like part of the design rather than an afterthought.

Retro luscious film photos

In addition to digital photography, I shot this wedding using a few different film cameras including medium format Pentax, a Canon 35mm and a Nikon point-and-shoot.

The Vendor Team

A wedding like this doesn’t come together without good people behind it. Wedding planning was handled by Emily Fiorelli, who is a trusted vendor in the Gentry Pines world and clearly knows how to work with the venue’s spaces and flow. If you’re planning a wedding at The Venue at Gentry Pines and looking for a coordinator, she should be at the top of your list.
