Type B Babes Elope at the Winter Park Clerk of Courts

This session was shot by GMP founder and Principal Photographer Elizabeth Millar

I cater to modern money-smart couples who crave intimacy over extravagance and value celebrating love, not logistics.

If you’re a chill couple who likes to figure it out as you go along, you need a photographer who gets you but is experienced enough to help you keep your shit together and pull off a joyful, relaxed elopement in Central Florida.

There is a common thread that runs through many of my couples: a “Type B” energy. For some, the traditional wedding industry’s obsession with 18-month timelines and color-coded binders is just too much. They would rather fly by the seat of their pants, follow the fun, and prioritize the connection over the centerpieces. And I get it because I walked away from the big-wedding industry for the same reasons.

Jacob and Arely are the embodiment of this spirit. Living out of state but returning to Orlando to visit friends, they looked at each other just one week ago and said, “What the heck, let’s get married!”so began the clock on a one-week timeline to pull it all together.

Planning a wedding in seven days requires a specific kind of chill. When Jacob’s suit didn’t arrive until the very day before the ceremony, I asked him what the backup plan was. His response? “I didn’t really think that far.” But the universe clearly loves these two because it delivered the perfect day in every way.

That is exactly the kind of energy I love. People often ask how I’m able to be so flexible and relaxed during a shoot, and the answer is simple: I’ve photographed over 500 full-blown weddings, casual weddings and spur-of-the-moment elopements. Because I’ve seen it all, I know exactly what comes next, what my couple needs to know, and how to guide everyone through not just the photography, but the whole experience. My experience is what allows me to be a calm in the storm for my couples, helping everyone keep their shit together while we navigate the courthouse process, chase the best light and get you across the finish line—ending the day married!

We started the morning at the Winter Park Clerk of Courts. This is the newest location for the Orange County Clerk, and while the ceremony room is lovely, the immediate surroundings are a bit of a photo desert. This is where having an experienced guide is vital—we hopped in the car and headed to Dickinson Azalea park, a pocket of Orlando greenery that is a hidden oasis.

The session was high-energy, upbeat, and delightfully spontaneous. We were joined by their dog, Berry—who might be the most chill and obedient pupper I’ve ever had on a session—and even incorporated a stray shopping cart we found on the side of the road. Why? Because it was there, it was fun, and it fit the “what the heck” vibe of the day perfectly.

We ended the celebration with a champagne spray and roadside cake picnic that was the ultimate exclamation point on their story.

Something I appreciate about my busienss is that I’ve been doing this for so long that I’ve gathered a collection of other vendors who are as relaxed and flexible as I am to pull things off in short time frames.

For this elopement, my partner in crime was Joyce from Affordable Wedding Flowers who can pull off almost anything you dream up in a short period of time. She did Arely’s bouquet and knocked it out of the park. I caught the two of them smelling it many times because Joyce’s flowers are always fragrant.

To all my Type B babes out there: if you want a photographer who gets your vibe but has the 500+ weddings under their belt to make sure it’s captured perfectly—you want me!
