In my booking form, you now have the option of adding a second photographer to your booking! This post explains why you might want to do that.
Traditional wedding photography almost always includes a second shooter, but as a photographer focusing on small weddings, elopements, and courthouse weddings, I’m committed to keeping my rates in alignment with couples’ goal to be smart with their money so there isn’t budget for a second shooter to always be included.

As my business has grown, I’ve started onboarding associate shooters and they’re fully up to speed on my methods, style, and the way these weddings go. They’re getting great reviews from my couples and that makes me so so happy.

In addition to being available to do whole sessions when I’m not available, my associate photographers are also available as second shooters working with me for your session.
Why would you want this and what do you get out of it that makes it worth the $$?
A good second shooter doesn’t just take more pictures of the same thing I’m taking pictures of. They don’t just stand next to me taking more photos. A good second shooter focuses on capturing the same moments I am not just from a different spot, but in a completely different perspective—they elevate your elopement photography session with unique perspectives and additional coverage.
Trust me…if you love candids, you want a second shooter.
When you see “candid” style wedding photos, you should know that many of those are moments generated by the photographer. Rather than just posing you, I direct you. I keep you moving, I keep you laughing, I keep you smoochin.
But the real candids taken in the split seconds between the shots I’m taking? The real candids done while I’m keeping you distracted? Those come from the second shooter. Check these out from a courthouse wedding I I did with Angelina as my second shooter…

And second shooters don’t just work alongside the primary photographer. They also get shots while the photographer is doing other things. While I was running to the car to get umbrellas, Angelina got the image below and honestly if I were this bride, I would have paid the second shooter fee for just this one image.

It’s not a shot taken from another angle while I was shooting the scene—it’s a real money shot taken by my second shooter while I wasn’t even around. No version of this image would have existed without her taking the initiative to keep shooting while I wasn’t around.
I hope this has convinced you of the value that a second photographer brings!
