Kathryn. She’s such a fireball. I’ve known Kathryn for almost all of my life. I learned Scottish Highland dance in her school in the town where I grew up in Florida. Kathryn has touched the lives of probably literally thousands of young girls and women in her 30-odd years as a teacher of dance.

But being that person in those kids’ lives, inevitably you also sometimes become more…like their mentor, their pastor, their friend.

I kidnapped Kathryn and we went to the coast at sunset to capture her in the waves. I really had no idea what I was after, what would happen. I couldn’t tell her what to expect or how it was going to happen. I just knew we were going down there and we were going to start and see where we ended up.
