As a photographer, I’ve covered the whole circle of life. That includes maternity sessions for couples and families celebrating their next big adventure.
Just wow. Sessions like these make me feel SO fortunate to be doing what I love. When you love what you do, you don’t work a single day in your life. Or you work every day of your life. Depends on how you want to look at it. This is hard work. And I love doing it every single day.
From booking me to buying wardrobe and flowers, King singlehandedly arranged this maternity slash birthday session for Aixa. It was all him and—damn—I wish I saw more men taking the reigns like this. Photo shoots can take a lot of mental and emotional labor and it often falls all on the woman. I’ve amassed a wonderful collection of clients who share the load but honestly, I’ve never seen the guy take on ALL the mental and physical labor of arranging a photo session. I guess it’s pretty even given all the labor Aixa is about to be doing! (pun intended)
We met near the golden hour at Moss Park in Orlando. It’s pretty incredible to have a place like this in Orlando. This is the Florida that tourists don’t often see or know about. Raw, untouched, and just so stunning.
We shot two scenes. Scene 1 was in the late afternoon light by the water with Aixa and King in all white, celebrating all the feminine energy from Mom and Babygirl. I loved the shots where King held the flowers and held the bottom of Aixa’s dress. And how beautiful is the way he touches her?! 🥹 He’s going to be an incredible papa.
Scene 2 was with them wearing pink and shooting in the last rays of light. What a FIRERY sunset! We danced, we did some cheesy shots, I got Aixa feelin’ herself…it was just so special.
Thank you for having me, King and Aixa, and best wishes for the new adventure ahead! 👶🏻
