I’ve photographed many at-home back yard weddings around Central Florida and it can be a simple and meaningful way to get married.

Remember that scene from Father of the Bride when Annie says she was hoping to get married at home and George’s vision of a back yard wedding wasn’t exactly what she had in mind? I’ve done at-home weddings that are both versions! Low-key BBQ weddings and elegant events that turned the home into nothing less than a stunning venue.

Stephanie and Weston are a sweet couple who have been together since they were kids. They got married on their family property in Sorrento on a June morning before the extreme heat of Florida summer set in. It was an extremely simple and laid back ceremony and photos that all took place inside of 90 minutes.

One of the things I take pride in about the way I do things is that you can hire me for just 2 hours and your couples photos are every bit as beautiful as if you’d had a 100 guest six-figure $$$ wedding.
Often, because we’re not stuck to such a strict time table, my couples get far more out of their session than when they have a big expensive wedding. It’s not uncommon to end up with just 10 or 15 mins for photos with a couple on their wedding day.

I spent about 20-30 mins with Stephanie and Weston exploring the property and enjoying all those gorgeous shades of green. The colors they wore pulled it all together with class and perfection.
Stephanie’s Pinterest board was filled with wedding photos shot on film so I also did a couple rolls of film photography on Portra 160 which renders the most stunning skintones and greens. Perfect for this session!
