Delaney finding me for her Orlando Museum of Art wedding was destiny.

Delaney’s first email to me said that she’d been looking for a photographer who would partner in her vision of a high flash, vintage, black n white, documentary style. She said most photographers in the area shot her down when she shared her vision with them.

I mean, I get it…when you spend years and decades perfecting your craft to the point where you can deliver hundreds of flawless images, it’s hard to strip that back and break the rules. That said, you have to master the rules in order to break them well so I actually think it’s next level artistry to be able to deliver what Delaney was asking me for.

It was a really fun opportunity for a brave photographer willing to say yes.

That high flash isn’t an accident. It takes an understanding of light and how to wield your tools. How to combine that high flash with the right settings, lens, focal length, and posing/prompts.

The blur, those light trails during the dancing…those took years to master. So getting a bride who wanted that was exciting.

This was my first wedding at the Orlando Museum of Art which is a classy location capable of serving both micro and traditionally sized weddings. I’d love to shoot there again!
