I allow my clients to choose a preferred editing style for their photos. This couple chose my warm and earthy style.
When I saw Lexi’s Pinterest board for her courthouse wedding, I was so psyched to work with them.
Funny story. This was an accidental Orange County Courthouse wedding. I showed up at the Grand Bohemian Hotel to capture Lexi & Nick’s getting ready photos and said something about what time we needed to leave to get to the courthouse in time. Lexi said, “Can’t we walk there?” and I was like “GIRL. In those shoes!?”
Turns out, they thought they were getting married at City Hall, but they don’t do civil ceremonies at City Hall—that happens at the courthouse on Orange Ave. And honestly, it’s an easy mistake because that’s where I went the first time I did a courthouse wedding.
So we cut it short and ran to the courthouse to get them hitched. We went back to The Grand Bohemian to pick up where we left off and also took fake “we got married at city hall” photos across the road at Orlando City Hall. In all, we spent 3 hours making some pretty gorgeous photos.
Working with Lexi & Nick was kismet. I have a questionnaire for couples when they book with me. I pull it up to get up to speed the morning of your shoot to remind myself of your goals, the style you want, etc. A few days before their wedding, I sent a Pinterest board full of direct flash B&W’s showing couples jumping on the bed, chilling in hotel hallways, and playing on the bellhop cart. Lexi’s reply: “Yes. Obsessed.”
It wasn’t until I looked at her Pinterest board on the day of their shoot that I discovered that she had pinned THE SAME PHOTOS. The stars aligned and I finally got to go these chic and wild photos with a couple in their hotel room. So fun.
Thank you for choosing me, Lexi & Nick. Best of luck on your life ahead 📸 💛
