Maggiano’s Little Italy Micro Wedding

My second Maggiano’s Little Italy Micro Wedding was a Christmas wedding complete with an Elvis impersonator and Vogue(ish) family portrait.

Jeanne and I were in communication about Jeanne & Spike’s micro wedding for only 2 weeks before it happened and damn we crammed a LOT into 2 hours. Maggiano’s is an Italian restaurant on International Drive. It’s quite a large venue with a lot of banquet rooms for hosting parties.

We planned to cover documentary-style images of their friends and family enjoying the reception, family photos with their kids, Mr & Mrs photos around the area, a surprise visit from an Elvis impersonator who serenaded them for their first dance, and one more thing that kinda scared my pants off…a Vogue style family photo.

Jeanne asked if I could use the dark wood paneling of the Maggiano’s banquet room to stage a family photo with the vibes of a “Vogue style” shoot. I think it could have been better, but I’m still quite amazed I pulled this off with only one flash and 15 minutes to plan and shoot. The wood wall was useful for taking the photo, but I felt it could be more elegant so I used AI to replace the background.

Having experienced many micro weddings, a piece of advice I would have for couples is to plan some kind of entertainment. Some weddings have a magician or live music. This one had an Elvis! Jeanne surprised Spike with an Elvis impersonator who came in and instantly started singing to the crowd which was a lot of fun. He sang Can’t help falling in love with you for their first dance.

It was an absolute pleasure working with this beautiful group of people thank you for having me, Jeanne & Spike!
