Whether it's an intimate and casual wedding in Florida's largest rose garden with family and friends, an early morning micro wedding at the South Trellis, or a more formal wedding in the Idea Garden, I've photographed many weddings and elopements at Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando.
Harry P. Leu Gardens is a 50-acre botanical oasis located just minutes from downtown Orlando. It is one of the most popular micro wedding venues in Central Florida because it offers a "destination" feel with historic charm and massive botanical diversity without requiring a trip far from the city.

I've done over 500 traditional and micro weddings and 300 elopements in the courthouses of Central Florida.
I'm ordained to officiate marriages and recommend only using me for this during elopements with just yourselves or very few guests.

A. Leu Gardens is very strict about their policy to not allow pop-up weddings or elopements without a wedding booking. As a photographer in Central Florida who can marry couples during their photo session, many couples get married with just themselves and me.
Couples who don't want to pay to reserve a garden for their elopement often get married at the courthouse and add Leu Gardens as a second location for our photo shoot together. Alternatively, I can marry you off-site and do the rest of your photo session at Leu Gardens.
A. Leu Gardens is stunning year-round with many seasonal blooming events across their 40 collections and themed gardens. Key times are the blooming of the rose garden (Florida's largest) which happens in April and October each year. The butterfly garden is most active March-May and October-November.
During the holiday season (late November to early January), Leu Gardens hosts Dazzling Nights and during this period, they do not book events or weddings. You would need to get married off-site and then we do your session there.
The best thing about doing your session during the holiday season is that the decorative installations put up for Dazzling Nights are also stunning during the day and add an incredible production value to your session that doesn't necessarily feel holiday-themed. Many of the installations are simply lights, stars or—my favorite—chandeliers hanging from the trees. Stunning.
A. Being in Florida, rain during weddings and photo sessions is always a concern. For sessions that aren't booked as a wedding, there are just a few rain shelters to wait it out and when you book your wedding or elopement at Leu Gardens, every wedding rental includes an indoor backup space for your ceremony.

In my experience, the most popular are The East Gazebo aka "The Idea Garden", The Rose Garden, and The South Trellis.
You need to get a license sometime before your elopement (up to 60 days). There are ways to get this done without needing to visit a courthouse and, yes, international couples can take advantage of this, too!
