As I watched Nelson & Dana dance like they were the only two people in the whole world, I realized something. I’d been involved in MANY weddings which weren’t what my couples first planned when they set out to create their perfect wedding experience. Lisa & Andrew’s wedding at home after their barn venue went out of business. Andrea & JP’s restaurant wedding after their venue was shut down for safety violations. Jacq & Gerry’s courthouse wedding after hurricane paranoia shut down the State of Florida (for what ended up being light rain and wind).

Now, Dana & Nelson who lost their venue just weeks before the day. They had to cut guest numbers dramatically and set up their shindig at home. But what a location it was! These two live on the beach and have a back yard big enough for a marquee. So being the scrappy, happy duo they are, they said “fuck it”, surrounded themselves with love and did what it took to make the best of an out-of-control situation.

The universe brings me so many incredible people to serve with my photography so when I met them for the first time, I just knew there would be a grand story to tell by the end. And as usual, I wasn’t wrong.
